Idan Shturman is an Israeli pianist. He graduated from the Thelma Yellin School of the Arts in 2016 and completed his Bachelor of Music at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music under the guidance of Arie Vardi. Idan also studied organ for one year with Alexander Gorin. Currently, he is continuing his studies with Severin von Eckardstein at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.

Idan has received support from the AICF Foundation and the Ronen Foundation. He performed in the 2014 Keynote program of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and in 2018, played Beethoven sonatas as part of Tomer Lev’s series. He also participated in the “Primavera Pianistica” festival in Belgium in 2018.

He has taken part in masterclasses with several renowned pianists, including Murray Perahia, Craig Sheppard, Vera Vaidman, Maria João Pires, and Miloš Popović. He has also studied with faculty at the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy, including Aquiles Delle Vigne, Robert Levin, and Dina Yoffe.

Idan has won several prizes in national and international competitions, including 1st prize in the Sternberg Chamber Music Competition, 3rd prize in the Ashdod Piano Forever Competition, and a Special Prize at the Maria Giubilei International Piano Competition in Sansepolcro. He was also awarded the gold medal in the Grand Maestro Competition and was a semi-finalist in the Classicalia International Global Televised Music Competition.

Idan has performed with orchestras under the direction of Guy Feder, Uri Segal, and Danwen Wei. He has participated in festivals such as “Music Fest Perugia” and the “Tel Hai International Piano Masterclasses,” where he received a special prize in memory of Marina Bondarenko. He also took part in a masterclass with Victor Derevianko in Dolný Kubín, Slovakia, and worked with Rena Shereshevskaya during the “ArtenetrA” festival.

In 2023, he attended the Poros Academy, studying with Massimiliano Ferrati and Agathe Leimoni, and performed for Daniel Barenboim at the Barenboim-Said Akademie in Berlin. In 2024, he played Liszt’s Sonata at a concert with Gil Shohat and participated in a masterclass with Rena Shereshevskaya. He also played for Evgeny Kissin in Prague. Most recently, he gave a recital in memory of Israeli piano teacher Rieta Lesokhin at the Kammermusiksaal of the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln.
